Vacations are enjoyable, relaxing and an experience that just about all people look forward to. The travel, itself, is sometimes stressful though. It is always possible for something to go wrong, whether it is booking the trip, packing or catching the plane or train. We want to share some tips with you to minimize the amount of stress that you experience, making your trip more enjoyable.
Make a packing list. You should start this list at least one week in advance, preferably earlier than that. The list should include all of your necessities for the trip. Even if you actually pack the stuff at the last moment, you can still be organized and avoid packing unnecessary stuff.
To stay on budget when planning your trip, plan it with plenty of time. Regardless of what your vacation costs, you usually get a better price if you pay early. Steering clear of last-minute expenses will reduce the overall cost of your trip.
With the rise in travel costs, airlines now often charge for many items previously considered complimentary. Provide your own blanket and pillow if you know that you will have a requirement for them, your own headphones too. You may also want to think of bringing your own food so you can eat what you want.
Alarm Clock
When you get to your hotel room, check the alarm clock. Whether by simple accident or obnoxious prank, many a traveler has been awakened early in the morning or worse, in the middle of the night, by the alarm clock at their bedside. Be sure to set this for whatever time you feel is comfortable to wake up at.
Taking a trip sometimes causes you pack too much. To make sure you do not bring too much, take only the toiletries you really need. List toiletries you use daily and cannot be without. Pack the ones that are most important to you.
If you drink coffee, sit out some hotel ice so it melts. The ice often tastes much better than hotel tap water, so just fill the bucket before you go to bed so it can melt as you sleep. When you wake up in the morning you will be able to brew fresh coffee with decent tasting filtered water.
There are many beautiful vistas and unusual fauna and flora in a desert. Everyone should experience the majesty and austerity of the desert at some point in their life.
When traveling, it is wise to consider possible emergencies that can occur, such as a lost passport. You can visit different websites to safeguard against this. Dept. of State has a website at usembassy.state.gov that has contact information fro the US Embassy our consulate in foreign country of your destination. Bring this information with you on your trip.
