Dream Big – but with Small Steps  paving the way to accomplish Big Dreams!

This is the take-away from Ensemble Travel Insights.

Thinking Big is about dreaming and strategic design; it answers the question, “What do I want?”  Thinking Small is about tactical planning; it answers the question, “How do I accomplish it?”

Great things are accomplished through thinking in small steps. People with big business dreams often forget these well-known truths about how to tackle big things. We become frustrated because things aren’t moving fast enough. We are ready to give up a dream because there is too much to do and don’t know which task to do first. When we do start a task, we abandon it if it takes longer or is more complicated than we think it should be.

We live in a world of instant gratification. We’re afraid that thinking small and taking small steps forward because we equate it with being small and having a small life. Nothing could be further from the truth.

No matter how much you try, you can only really do one thing at a time. You may think that multi-tasking makes you more productive, but studies show that multi-tasking actually reduces your ability to accomplish tasks. So instead of trying to do five tasks simultaneously put conscious effort into one task at a time, complete it, and move on to the next.

How do you know what small step to take first? Start by asking yourself, “What one small thing can I do, right now, that will move me towards my big goal?” Don’t give up if the answer doesn’t come to you immediately; have patience and allow the answer to bubble up to the surface.

If the answer still doesn’t come to you, ask other people for help. Talk to supportive people who fully understand your big dream and can help you to look at the small tasks you must do to accomplish the goal. Write down the tasks or draw them on a piece of paper and ask yourself, “Does this feel right?” Write in pencil so that you can re-arrange it until it truly feels right to you. Then do one small task at a time.

I’m encouraging you to do both, dream big AND think small.

More Bad PR for United. Rare Giant Bunny Simon Dies in Transport!

simon_the_bunny_dies

As if bad news for United Airlines is bad enough, now Simon the giant bunny is reported to have died in transport.

Simon’s death is the latest controversy in several weeks of incredibly bad public relations for United Airlines starting when a passenger was forcibly ejected from an overbooked flight resulting in substantial injuries, a lawsuit as well as an international public relations disaster as the story went viral in the news.

Dr Dao, a 69-year-old from Kentucky, was seen with a bloodied face after being forcibly taken off the plane by Chicago airport officers who had been summoned by United employees when he would not give up his seat.

Another lawsuit was filed this week against United Airlines as a 2016 first class passenger decided to file suit regarding her experience having to depart an overbooked United Airlines first-class flight.

Now a rare ten month old 4 foot bunny Simon expected to become the world’s largest bunny dies in a holding area in Chicago.

The circumstances over the rare bunny death is under investigation.

Had he lived Simon was expected to outgrow the world’s biggest rabbit – his 4ft 4in father Darius.

Annette Edwards, Simon’s devastated owner from Stoulton in Worcester claims he died in the cargo hold of United Airlines flight from Heathrow Airport to Chicago on April 19.

A United States buyer spent $2000 to have his transported from London.  When he went to collect Simon he was told that Simon passed away.

Simon was a stunning boy with black fur and blue eyes.

According to his owner Annette Edwards, ‘I took him for a full health check at the vets on the day of his flight on the 19th of April. He went for his health check at around 6:15pm he left me around quarter past nine.

‘He looked so happy at the vets, hopping about everywhere. He had his temperature taken, heart checked and a thorough going over which was all fine.

‘He went from Heathrow to Canton and when he landed at Chicago he was checked and alright he was absolutely fine apparently he was left in a room for when they’ve got another flight to go.

‘He was checked a couple of times and was alright but when they checked him for the next flight they found him dead.’

Before all the blame on United Airlines, let’s look at some statistics regarding pet airline fatalities and rabbit conditions that might make them a poor candidate and high risk candidate for air travel in the first place.

According to the Annual Bloomberg Report on the Pet  Fatalities and Injuries reported on airlines in 2014 United Airlines rates the highest with 5 deaths and 13 injuries to animals travelling in cargo with causes ranging from escapes leading to collisions with motor vehicles to stress or medical related incidents.

Bunnies are at a much higher risk for stress related death.

Besides a  high sensitivity to temperature changes, delicate and easily broken bones,  rabbits are easily stressed which can sometimes result in shock and death.  It is possible for a rabbit to die of fright.  Loud sounds, such as cats, dogs, loud music, or screaming can lead to a heart attack and put a rabbit into shock, causing sudden death.
It was most likely a foolish decision to try to transport a rabbit in cargo transport on any plane but for now United Airlines pays the price in bad publicity.  The amount that Annette Edwards was selling Simon the rabbit was most likely substantial if the buyer was paying $2000 for the transport alone.
Was greed was a factor in putting an animal that is highly susceptible to stress like a rabbit on a commercial airline in cargo in the first place?
Should airlines have policies that do not allow rabbits to be transported in airline cargo in the first place?
Should Annette Edwards a rabbit breeder that has fashioned herself and spent thousands on plastic surgery to look like Jessica Rabbit, the film character from Who Killed Roger Rabbit? jessica_rabbit

The State Department Draws Fire Promoting Mar-a-Lago on its Website

maralago

Mar-a-lago?  Many people had never heard of Trump’s “winter whitehouse” Mar-a-lago Resort before Donald Trump took president.  But everyone has heard of Maralago Resort now!

The Mar-a-lago- luxury resorts brings in private club membership of up to $250,000, the price of membership doubling since the election.

Every weekend for seven consecutive weekends Donald Trump has taken off to his Palm Beach Luxury Resort Mar-a-Lago where annual resort memberships sell for as much as $250,000.   Brilliant Marketing!

But did President Donald Trump and the state department go to giving a glowing  promotion of Mar-a-lago on the on the state department blog?

The renown king of free advertising President Donald Trump and his state department are drawing fire from after articles appeared under the heading “A Dream Deferred” and it said the original socialite owner wanted Mar-a-Lago to be a retreat for American presidents but notes it didn’t happen until Trump won the election.

The text appeared on the website for Share America, a State Department platform intended to “spark discussion and debate on important topics;” the website for the U.S. Embassy in the United Kingdom and the Facebook page for the U.S. Embassy in Albania.

House Democrats and Ethics watchdogs were quick to express outrage and media outlets were quick to report it. The articles were later removed with an apology.

The State Department initially declined to comment on the posts, but later unpublished them and said, “The intention of the article was to inform the public about where the President has been hosting world leaders. We regret any misperception and have removed the post.”

Three ethics watchdogs who reviewed the posts before they were taken down told NBC News they were troubling.

“They represent violations of a federal ethics regulation which prohibits the use of public office to endorse a product or enterprise,” said Kathleen Clark, a professor at Washington University Law.

“Calling it the ‘winter White House’ appears to suggest that Mar-a-Lago has an official governmental role, which would appear to provide a governmental endorsement.”

Jordan Libowitz of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington said the post “reads almost like an ad for Mar-a-Lago.”

“If they weren’t trying to drive business there, you have to wonder what they were doing,” said Libowitz, who has previously sued Trump over other alleged ethics violations.

File Carlos Barria / Reuters

John Wonderlich of the Sunlight Foundation said it didn’t matter that the context for the posts was Trump’s meeting with China’s Xi Jinping.

“Publishing promotional materials for the President’s private business is clearly inappropriate, whether he is using it for official business or not,” he said. “There is only one White House. If you’re telling the story of Mar-a-Lago, it’s the president’s private business.”

Mar-a-Lago has been a lightning rod for those accusing the Trump administration of conflicts of interest.

While Trump has turned over control of his businesses to his sons, critics have pointed out that initiation fees were doubled to $200,000 after his election and that the president’s frequent appearances there could provide unique access to him for those who can pay.

Regardless of the intent of the state department publishing the article, there is no doubt Mar-a-lago Resorts and Trump Resorts are in the major spotlight and will continue to be so for years to come.

We can watch as the famous talk show hosts like Ellen make video spoofs of Mar-a-Lago like this one she aired on a recent show  all the while the price of entry to Mar-a-lago is on the rise!

It’s not often that a high end “foodie” restaurant is so good that you visit three times in eight weeks. More importantly is the intangible feeling of magic, where the food, the service and the setting all combine perfectly.

We go to super high end restaurants all over the world, and we will be back. Kudos to Benazuza for giving us three of the most memorable eating experiences we have had. Well done!

Travelution travel agents will get to experience a one of a kind cuisine and combined entertainment experience visiting the Oasis Sens“The Black Hole” a true “dining in the dark” sensory entertainment experience.  We won’t give away all the secrets but they don’t call Oasis SensThe Pleasure Resort” for nothing.

Carnival Cruise line Hosts Travelution Seminar At Sea

Carnival Cruise Lines recently hosted a Seminar at Sea for Travelution Travel Agents. carnival_travelution_group

From November 13th to November 19th 2016, Travelution travel agents got to experience their first Seminar at Sea.

A Seminar at Sea combines the excitement, adventure and experience of a cruise vacation with a cruise educational experience.    Travelution Travel Agents got a chance to cruise from Miami to Montego Bay Jamaica, to the Grand Cayman Islands to Cozumel on a 6 Day Adventure.

The Carnival Cruise line BDM Business Development Manager, Kirsten Sanchez accompanied the travel agents where they toured together, ate together and trained together.

One of the most important part of the Travelution Seminar at Sea was to allow the Travelution travel agents to personally experience the cruise product with enthusiasm so they can enthusiastically sell the Carnival product to their travel clients.

Some of the highlights of the Carnival Cruise included a snorkel adventure in the Grand Cayman islands where they swam with stingrays and even kissed them.  The water was amazingly turquoise as far as the eyes could see just like we moved into paradise. stingray_encounter_2stingray_encounter_001

In Montego Bay Jamaica we enjoyed the a popular turquoise beach, historical sites like Rose Hall and shopping adventures together which concluded with a local food favorite Jamaican jerk chicken.   In Cozumel, we got to experience more snorkeling and aqua sports with delicious traditional Mexican all-inclusive food, Margaritas and the famous shopping that Cozumel is known for.

Over sixty of the Travelution travel agents participated and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Your Travelution Inc has a strong focus on training and personal experience and Travelution Travel Agents get to follow their passion of travel, more than they ever dreamed of with a family of Travelution Travel Agents who share the same passion for travel.
