Melt a bucket of ice if you want to have fresh water for morning coffee. Since tap water may not taste the best, fill the ice bucket, then let it melt through the night. Upon awakening in the morning, you can use that water to make fresh coffee that does not have an offensive taste.
Bring cookie sheets when on a road trip with kids. You can use them as a table on which to draw or play a game. If you’ve got little kids, take along those magnetic numbers and letters so you can also spend time teaching them.
If you plan to use traveler’s checks, make sure you cash them before you go shopping or out to eat. Many places accept them, but they can be hard to work with. You may get shorted when you use them. Instead, have them converted to local currency previous to shopping.
