When planning a trip, select your digital camera with the needs of your trip in mind. If you want to go backpacking, you’ll want to pack a rechargeable battery. In any case, take a digital camera that is quick to turn on and focus so you won’t miss the shot you want.
Don’t rely on the airline you’re flying with to cater to your every need, even if you’re going on a long distance flight. Provide your own blanket and pillow if you know that you will have a requirement for them, your own headphones too. Don’t go hungry! Bring your own healthy snacks on the plane!
Identify every piece of luggage that you bring on your trip. Outside tags are easily ripped off. Just in case your bag ends up lost and without its tag, place identification information inside, so it can still be returned to you quickly.
Rubber Doorstop
Sometimes you will end up at a poor hotel. If you aren’t comfortable with the area but have no choice, pack an ordinary rubber doorstop. Wedge it under the door at night. An intruder might be able to get past the chain and the lock, but the rubber doorstop won’t be so easy to dislodge.
A lot of car rental companies require their renters to be at least 18 years old, and some even require them to 25. You may pay more and have to use a credit card if you’re not at least 25. In some places, senior citizens may not be allowed to rent a car. Ask the company’s age restrictions when making reservations.
